Abstract:

Disertační práce zpracovává komplexní téma pokročilých battery management systémů. Úvodní část rámcově poodkrývá problematiku vybraných současných řešení, shrnuje jejich funkcionalitu a typické konstrukční limity. Uvedené koncepty topologií blokově vystihují typy obvodových struktur a režimy modulárního rozšiřování. Vývoj specifického řešení a realizace pokročilého systému řízení elektronického managementu současných moderních Li-Ion článků lze principiálně kategorizovat na více dílčích částí. Z pohledu elektroniky na výkonové rozhraní, monitorovací analog front-end obvody, komunikační periferie a centrální řídící jednotku. Firmwarová výbava zohledňuje matematicko-fyzikální modely baterie. Battery management system slouží pro kontinuální dynamické monitorování toku elektrické energie a může být realizován například podpůrnými obvody firmy Texas Instruments řady BQ769x0 nebo BQ7961x. Volba konkrétního AFE obvodu ovlivňuje především variabilní sériovou kombinaci článků, možnosti jejich přístupu, parametry registrů a externí komunikační rozhraní. Jednoprocesorová řídící jednotka, mimo své úsporné provozní fáze, s požadovanou periodou vyčítá z AFE obvodů provozní informace, které jsou zpracovávány implementovanými algoritmy. Princip pokročilého řízení vyžaduje plnou kontrolu nad připojenými Li-Ion články, které jsou na počátku prvními provozními cykly důkladně mapovány. Centrální řídící jednotka dále disponuje možností sériového řetězení s ostatními bateriovými bloky. Vzájemná komunikace je k vysokým napěťovým potenciálům nutná galvanicky oddělovat. Hlavními problémy práce se jeví jednak mechanické provedení celého systému s ohledem na potenciálně vysoké provozní proudy spínacích prvků, problematika elektromagnetické kompatibility doprovodných řídicích obvodů, ale také i vhodné softwarové vybavení. Poslední kapitola práce zaměřuje pozornost na matematickofyzikální modelování baterie a techniku transformace vztahů do softwarových struktur integrovaného MCU.

Abstract:

The dissertation deals with the complex topic of advanced battery management systems. The introductory part outlines the issues of selected current solutions, summarizes their functionality and typical design limits. The topology concepts presented block diagrammatically capture the types of circuit structures and modular expansion schemes. The development of a specific solution and the implementation of an advanced electronic management system for today's advanced Li-Ion cells can be principally categorized into several subparts. From an electronics perspective, the power interface, the monitoring analog front-end circuitry, the communication peripherals and the central control unit. The firmware takes into account the mathematical and physical models of the battery. The battery management system is used for continuous dynamic power flow monitoring and can be implemented, for example, by Texas Instruments BQ769x0 or BQ7961x series support circuits. The choice of a particular AFE circuit is mainly influenced by the variable series combination of cells, their access options, register parameters and external communication interface. The single-processor controller, apart from its economical operating phases, reads the operating information from the AFE circuits with the required period, which is processed by the implemented algorithms. The principle of advanced control requires full control over the connected Li-Ion cells, which are thoroughly mapped at the beginning of the first operating cycles. The central control unit also has the possibility of serial chaining with other battery blocks. Intercommunication is required to galvanically isolate the high voltage potentials. The main problems of the work appear to be the mechanical design of the whole system with respect to the potentially high operating currents of the switching elements, the electromagnetic compatibility issues of the accompanying control circuits, but also the appropriate software. The last chapter of the thesis focuses attention on the mathematical and physical modelling of the battery and the technique of transforming the relations into software structures of the integrated MCU
