Relationship between outreach social workers and drug users

Abstract:

Tato magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá vztahem mezi terénními sociálními pracovníky a jejich klienty (uživateli nealkoholových drog). Hlavním cílem práce je poukázat na faktory, které napomáhají či naopak brání pracovníkům v navazování a následném udržování a rozvoji vztahu s jejich klienty. Pro teoretické ukotvení tématu byly nejprve definovány základní pojmy, konkrétně terénní sociální práce, terénní sociální pracovník, uživatel drog a vztah . Pro realizaci výzkumu byl zvolen kvalitativní metodologický přístup v podobě polostrukturovaného rozhovoru s otevřenými otázkami. Výsledkem práce je vymezení pěti oblastí, které více, či méně vstupují do vztahu pracovníka s klientem. Výsledky obsažené v této práci mohou pomoci terénním pracovníkům při zefektivnění práce s klienty, nebo při výběru nových terénních pracovníků a také pro ty, jenž mají zájem se dozvědět o vztahu mezi terénními pracovníky a klienty nebo celkově o tématice vztahující se k drogové problematice a práci v této sociální oblasti.

Abstract:

This master’s thesis deals with the relationship between outreach social workers and their clients (non-alcohol drug users). The main objective is to point out factors that help or obstruct outreach workers in the establishment and subsequent maintenance and development of the relationship with their clients. To provide the theoretical background, basic terms will be defined, namely outreach social work, outreach social worker, drug user and relationship. For the realization of the research the qualitative methodological approach in the form of semi-structured interview with open questions was selected. The result of the thesis is in the definition of five areas, which more or less influence the relationship between an outreach social worker and a client. The results contained in this study may help outreach social workers to work with clients more effectively, or also when selecting new outreach social workers and also for those who are interested to learn more about the relationship between outreach social workers and clients, or generally who are interested on topics relating to drugs and work among outreach social workers.
