The Creativity in Adolescents Lyrics

Abstract:

Ve své diplomové práci jsem se zabývala tvořivostí zachycenou v textech dospívajících. Zkoumaný materiál se skládal z autobiografických příběhů, které psali adolescenti mezi 13. a 17. svého života. Příběhy vznikly v rámci vyšetření v longitudinální studii ELSPAC. Ve svém výzkumu jsem nejprve hledala kritéria tvořivosti odpovídající povaze zkoumaného materiálu. Dospěla jsem k následujícím třem kritériím: 1) hodnocení tvořivosti příběhu, 2) originalita obsahu a 3) počet slov. Analyzovala jsem příběhy na základě těchto kritérií (provedla jsem řazení, obsahovou analýzu a statistickou analýzu). Kritéria jsem ověřovala na zmíněných textech a úspěšně jsem je ověřila pro texty psané v 15 letech věku respondentů. Následně jsem prezentovala příběhy, které se ukázaly na základě uvedených kritérií jako nejtvořivější. Též jsem analyzovala vývoj v kritérií mezi 13. a 17. rokem - dospěla jsem pouze k náznakům stability v čase u počtu slov a hodnocení tvořivosti příběhů. Nakonec jsem diskutovala postup určování kritérií, jeho omezení (např. nemožnost zobecnit výsledky na širší populaci) a přínosy (např. hodnocení a počet slov se ukázaly jako vhodná kritéria tvořivosti napříč celým zkoumaným obdobím, originalita obsahu má potenciál zachytit kvalitativní změny ve vývoji tvořivosti).

Abstract:

In my thesis I looked at creativity captured in the adolescents' narratives. The research material consisted of autobiographical stories written by adolescents between 13th and 17th year of their life. The stories were originaly collected in the longitudinal study ELSPAC. In my research I was at first looking for creativity criteria appropriate to the nature of the examined material. I came to the three following criteria: 1) assessment of story creativity, 2) content originality and 3) the word count. I analyzed stories on the basis of these criteria (I have carried out sorting, the content analysis and statistical analysis). I have verified these criteria successfuly for the texts written in the 15 years of respondents' age. Then I presented the the most creative stories according to the criteria. I also analyzed the development of criteria between 13th and 17th year - I found only the tentative stability over time for the word count and for the assessment of story creativity. Finally, I discussed the procedure of criteria formation, limitations of criteria (eg inability to generalize results to the wider population) and benefits (eg, assessment and word count have proved to be the appropriate criteria of creativity throughout the examined period, the content originality has the potential to capture qualitative changes in the development of creativity).
