Participation and Dialog in Social Work with Young People

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce si klade za cíl zodpovědět otázku: „Nakolik uplatňují sociální pracovníci ve vztahu s rizikovou mládeží participaci a dialog?“ Pro nalezení odpovědi je důležité především objasnění cílové skupiny rizikové mládeže s důrazem na vzájemný vztah mezi pomáhajícím a mladým klientem. Hlavní pozornost je zde věnována participaci a dialogu, které patří mezi základní principy symetrického vztahu v sociální práci. Symetrický vztah je založen na vzájemném porozumění a možnosti klienta aktivně zasahovat do řešení své problematické životní situace. Bez participace a dialogu však tohoto stavu nelze dosáhnout. Výzkumná část práce využívá kvalitativní metodu, která je založena na 11 rozhovorech provedených s 5 sociálními pracovníky pracujícími s rizikovou mládeží a jejich 6 mladými klienty.

Abstract:

The goal of the bachelor thesis is to answer the following question: „How do the social workers use the participation and dialog when working with young people at risk?” For answering the question is essential to define the target group of the young people at risk, with an emphasize on an interrelationship between the social worker and the young client. The attention is focused on the participation and dialog, which are the basic principles of symmetric relation. The concept of symmetric relation is based on mutual understanding between the client and social worker as well as client’s possibility to participate actively on the solution of his/her problematic life situation. This goal is not attainable without participation and dialogue. Empiric part of the thesis employs the qualitative method, in total eleven interviews were taken - five with social workers from two Brno organizations working with young people at risk, six with their young clients.
