Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá překladem knihy od J. K. Rowlingové The Casual Vacancy a jeho následnou analýzou. V praktické části je představen samotný překlad několika vybraných kapitol knihy. V části teoretické je následná analýza přeloženého textu se zvláštním zřetelem na lexikální ekvivalenci a vybrané jazykové struktury, jako je například idiolekt jednotlivých postav. Dále se tato práce podrobněji zabývá překladem vlastních jmen a vulgarismů. Cílem práce je zdůvodnit jednotlivá překladatelova rozhodnutí v závislosti na předložené teorii

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with a translation of a book The Casual Vacancy by J. K. Rowling and its linguistic analysis. The practical part consists of the translation of the first few selected chapters from the book, while the theoretical part provides an analysis of the translation with special regard to lexical equivalence and certain language structures, such as the individual characters’ language and idiolect. Moreover it deals with translation of proper names and vulgarism in detail. The thesis also addresses some of the translation issues which may appear during the translation process. The aim is to justify the translator’s individual choices in regard to presented theory.
