The ways of internet communication

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce pojednává o problematice komunikace po internetu. Jejím cílem je prozkoumat psychologické aspekty a popsat jednotlivé způsoby komunikace po internetu s jejich výhodami a nevýhodami. Práce začíná popisem charakteristik virtuálního prostředí, následují virtuální identity, rizika internetové komunikace, absence neverbálních prvků komunikace, netiketa a některé další aspekty internetové komunikace. Následující kapitoly se zaobírají jednotlivými způsoby komunikace po internetu s jejich specifiky, výhodami a nevýhodami. Prvním z diskutovaných způsobů je elektronické pošta, následují MUD, chat, instantní komunikátory a internetová telefonie. Dále jsou zde probrány sociální sítě, především pak Facebook. Podrobně jsou zde rozebrány jejich rizika s příklady z praxe. V kapitole o internetových seznamkách je představena problematika seznamování na internetu, její výhody a nevýhody a tvorba profilu s přehledem typů inzerátů. Posledním způsobem internetové komunikace probíraným v této práci jsou internetové diskuse. Představeny jsou diskusní fóra a diskuse pod články, zmíněna je i problematika cenzury a přidán je i přehled nejběžnějších druhů diskusních příspěvků. V závěrečné kapitole jsou představeny avatary, jejich použití a také rozdělení do několika základních skupin.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with communication over the Internet. Its aim is to explore the psychological aspects and describe the various methods of communication over the Internet with their advantages and disadvantages. The thesis begins with a description of the characteristics of the virtual environment, followed by virtual identities, the risks of the Internet communication, the lack of nonverbal elements of communication, Netiquette, and some other aspects of the Internet communications. Subsequent chapters are concerned with various methods of communication over the Internet with their specifics, advantages and disadvantages. The first of these methods mentioned is electronic mail, followed by the MUD, chat, Instant Messengers and Internet telephony. Further the social networks are discussed, with the main focus on Facebook. Also the risks connected with these networks and its practical examples are described. In the chapter dealing with online dating services, Internet dating is introduced with its advantages and disadvantages followed by the process of creating a profile and the list of advert types is presented. The last way of the Internet communication examined by this thesis are Internet discussions. The internet forums and discussions under articles are presented, also the issue of censorship is mentioned and the list of the most common types of messages in discussions is added. The final chapter presents the avatars, their use and also their division into several basic groups.
