Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá implementáciou rôznych typov komiksov do vyučovacích hodín anglického jazyka s cieľom rozvíjať zručnosti hovorenia, písania, čítania, počúvania a kritického myslenia. Práca je rozdelená na dve časti. Teoretická časť sa zaoberá definíciou komiksu, jeho jazykom, základným usporiadaním a základnými zložkami, a sumarizuje výskumy o využití komiksu vo výučbe a pri rozvoji piatich zručností. Empirická časť predstavuje metódu výskumu a účastníkov a sumarizuje výsledky, ktoré ukázali, že vhodné používanie komiksov na hodinách je stimulujúce a prispieva k rozvoju schopností a k zvýšenej motivácii žiakov učiť sa a zúčastňovať sa na vyučovaní.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis investigates the implementation of various types of comics in English teaching lessons in order to develop speaking, writing, reading, listening and critical thinking skills. The paper is divided into two parts. The theoretical part deals with the definition of comics, its fundamental layouts, components, and its language, and summarizes the research on the use of comics in education and in the development of the five skills. The empirical part introduces the research method and the participants and summarizes the results, which showed that the appropriate use of comics in classes is stimulating and enhances learners’ abilities and motivation to learn and participate in lessons.
