Case management in work with people with mental illness

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem Case management v práci s osobami s duševním onemocněním pojednává o metodě case managementu při práci s klienty, kteří se potýkají s duševním onemocněním. Tato práce vysvětluje pojem case management a case manager, popisuje týmovou práci s klienty, informuje o vzniku a historii metody, popisuje zásady case managementu a jeho úkoly. Pokusím se definovat duševní onemocnění a zaměřím se na sociální práci s osobami s duševním onemocněním. Zaměřím se také na strategii psychiatrické reformy a na problematiku stigmatizace u osob s duševním onemocněním. V bakalářské práci se budu snažit zjistit, zda je case management vhodnou metodou při práci s osobami s duševním onemocněním, zda case management ovlivňuje potřebu psychiatrické lůžkové péče u osob s duševním onemocněním a jaké má case management při práci s klientem výhody a bariéry. Součástí bakalářské práce jsou rozhovory s pracovníky organizace Fokus Mladá Boleslav, z. s., kteří pracují metodou case managementu. Zároveň je vypracována sekundární analýza dat, jejíž cílem je zjistit, zda práce formou case managementu ovlivňuje potřebu psychiatrické hospitalizace u osob s duševním onemocněním.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis which is called Case management in work with people with mental illness deals with the method of case management in working with clients who are struggling with mental illness. This work explains the concept of case management and case manager, describes teamwork with clients, informs about the origin and history of the method, describes the principles of case management and its tasks. I will try to define mental illness and focus on social work with people with mental illness. I will also focus on the strategy of psychiatric reform and the issue of stigmatization in people with mental illness. In my bachelor thesis I will try to find out whether case management is a suitable method when working with people with mental illness, whether case management affects the need for psychiatric inpatient care for people with mental illness and what are the advantages and barriers of case management when working with clients. Part of the bachelor thesis are interviews with employees of the organization Fokus Mladá Boleslav, z. s., who work using the case management method. At the same time, a secondary data analysis is developed, the aim of which is to find out whether work in the form of case management influences the need for psychiatric hospitalization in people with mental illness.
