Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je analyzovat jazyk dvou populárních vlámských komiksů. Pozornost je zaměřena především na vlámskou jazykovou variantu nazývanou "tussentaal", tedy hovorovou variantu nacházející se mezi spisovným jazykem a dialekty. Teoretická část se věnuje jazykové situaci ve Flandrách, specifickým znakům jazyka užívaného v komiksech a popisu analyzovaného korpusu. Praktická část je zaměřená na metodologii a výsledky analýzy, která má dvě části: kvantitativní a kvalitativní.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the language use in two popular Flemish comics. My main focus is on the so-called “tussentaal” (“in-between language”), the colloquial variety used in Flanders that can be situated between the standard language and the dialects. The theoretical part is dedicated to the language situation in Flanders, to the specific characteristics of the language use in comics and to the description of my corpus. In the practical part I will first describe the methodology, followed by the results of the quantitative and qualitative research. As part of the quantitative research I will analyse to what extent “tussentaal” is used in the selected comics. The qualitative part deals with specific language situations in which "tussentaal" is used.
