The Terms in the Translation of academic text. Marlisa Szwillus: Fett weg ab 40!

Abstract:

ABSTRACT This thesis is concerned with the questions of translations. I have focused on the work of translator and questions of terms. Translation represents important action; that is part of intercultural communication. There exists variety of strategies and methods for simplifying this action. But there exist questionable articles too, which this action complicates. The goal of the thesis is based on to bring forward the theoretical basis of translations, then the practical problems (terms take into account) to explicate and then both to compare. To reach the aim I have studied the theoretical possibilities. I was engaged in the translated text from the book Fett we gab 40!, witch I had translated before. Finally, by means of the gained knowledge I was able to determine the degree, to how much the translation of academic (popular science) text complicated is.

ABSTRAKT Diese Diplomarbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Problematik des Übersetzens. Ich richtete meine Aufmerksamkeit auf Arbeit des Übersetzers und auf der Frage der Termini. Übersetzen stellt eine wichtige Tätigkeit dar, die ein Bestandteil der Interkulturellekommunikation ist. Es gibt vielfältige Methoden und Strategien zur Vereinfachung dieser Tätigkeit. Und es gibt natürlich auch problematische Punkte, die diese Tätigkeit komplizieren. Das Ziel der Diplomarbeit bestand darin, die theoretischen Gründe für Übersetzungsarbeit darzustellen, dann die praktische Probleme (mit Berücksichtigung der Rolle von Termini) exponieren und mit beides zu vergleichen. Zur Erreichung des Zieles studierte ich die entsprechende Sachliteratur. Ich beschäftigte mich mit dem übersetzten Text des Buches Fett weg ab 40, den ich schon vorher übergesetzt habe. Mit Hilfe von erworbenen Kenntnissen konnte ich zum Schluss festlegen, inwieweit ist Übersetzen des Fachtextes (Bzw. populärwissenschaftlichen Textes) kompliziert.
