Restoration of a Part of a Mural Painting "Ascension of Jesus Christ" in the Interior of the Chaple of Our Lady of Sorrows in Broumov, Olivětín

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se sestává z restaurátorské dokumentace a teoretické kapitoly. Jedna část práce dokumentuje komplexní restaurátorský zákrok provedený na vymezeném úseku nástropní malby Nanebevstoupení Krista v kapli Bolestné Panny Marie v Broumově- Olivětíně, a to včetně jemu předcházejícího průzkumu. Teoretická část bakalářské práce se věnuje zkoumání způsobu malby barokního malíře nástěnných maleb Josefa Hagera, domnělého autora původní interiérové výmalby olivětínské kaple. V kapitole jsou shrnuty výsledky terénního průzkumu vybraných Hagerových realizací se zaměřením na jeho rukopisné znaky a výsledky archivního průzkumu zacíleného na původní techniku malby. Takto získaná zjištění jsou konfrontována s výmalbou interiéru kaple Bolestné Panny Marie v Broumově-Olivětíně.

Abstract:

This thesis consists of restauration documentation and a theoretical chapter. One part of the text documents complete restauration of a delimited part of a mural painting Ascension of Jesus Christ in the interior of the chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows in Broumov-Olivětín, including preceding research. The theoretical part of the thesis is dedicated to the research of the painting style of Josef Hager, a baroque painter of mural paintings and a supposed author of the original interior paintings of the Olivětín chapel. The results of the field research of Hager's adaptations, focused on his characteristic handwriting, and an archive research on his original technique of painting, are summarized in this chapter. The findings are compared with interior paintings of the chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows in Broumov-Olivětín.
