Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce se zabývá rekonstrukcí mediálního obrazu vzniku Československa, Čechů a Němců s důrazem na město Brno, který na svých stránkách vytvářely český deník Moravská orlice a německý deník Tagesbote aus Mähren und Schlesien v průběhu listopadu 1918. Cílem práce je s použitím metody diskurzivní analýzy v pojetí Jamese Paula Geeho odhalit strategie, pomocí kterých oba deníky zobrazovaly Československo, Čechy a Němce v období bezprostředně po vzniku nového státu 28. října 1918. Práce je rozdělená do tří hlavních částí: V teoretické části jsou vymezeny základní koncepty (národ a nacionalismus, sociální konstrukce reality, agenda-setting, ideologie, diskurz a diskurzivní analýza) a je nastíněno historické pozadí, v metodologické části je navržen postup výzkumu a ve výzkumné části je provedena samotná analýza obou deníků. V závěru analytické části jsou zodpovězeny vedlejší výzkumné otázky, na jejichž základě jsou identifikovány diskurzivní modely, které konstruovaly obraz Československa, Čechů a Němců.

Abstract:

The master thesis deals with the reconstruction of the media depiction of the birth of Czechoslovakia, Czechs and Germans with focus on Brno, as it was created in a czech daily newspaper Moravská orlice and a german daily newspaper Tagesbote aus Mähren und Schlesien during November of 1918. Using discourse analysis method, specifical approach of James Paul Gee, the aim of the thesis is to reveal the strategies that were used by these newspapers to depict Czechoslovakia, Czechs and Germans instantly after the birth of a new country on 28th October 1918. The thesis is divided into three main parts: in the theoretical part the basic theoretical concepts (nation and nationalism, social construction of reality, agenda-setting, ideology, discourse and discourse analysis) have been defined, in the methodological part the research performed is presented and in the analytical part the side research questions have been answered. Based on these the discourse models have been identified, that have constructed the media presentation of Czechoslovakia, Czechs and Germans.
