Box three moth (Cydalima perspectalis) – biology, distribution and importance

Abstract:

Tato práce monitoruje původní rozšíření zavíječe zimostrázového (Cydalima perspectalis) a jeho následnou invazi do Evropy. Práce popisuje rychlost a průběh jeho šíření Evropou. Za-bývá se také morfologií a bionomií druhu a jeho potravními nároky. Hledá možnosti monito-ringu a následné regulace. Sleduje vybrané lokality keřů Buxus sempervirens na Brněnsku a hodnotí jejich zasažení v průběhu roku 2018 a jara 2019. Popisuje vývoj vybrané skupiny housenek z lokality na Brněnsku odchovávané v umělém prostředí a porovnává ho s obdobným asijským pokusem na housenkách v zemi přirozeného (původního) výskytu Cy-dalima perspectalis.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the native distribution of the Cydalima perspectalis and its invasion into Europe. It describes the character of the invasion of the species. Moreover, it deals with mor-phology and bionomics of the species and its host-species preferences. In addition, the thesis searches for options of monitoring and eradication of the species. In surroundings of Brno (SE Czech Republic), several stands of Buxus sempervirens were chosen and their damage caused by Cydalima perspectalis was monitored in 2018 and spring 2019. The ontogenesis of speci-men collected in field in the study area and bred in an artificial environment was compared with studies from the native distribution range of the species (i.e. E Asia).
