Free movement of labour force within EU in accordance with the entry of the Czech Republic into the EU

Abstract:

The free movement of persons is one of four freedoms of every citizen of European Union. In the connection with accessin of the Czech republic and other nine states of central and east Europe to the EU was very often topic of discussion free movement of labour force. States of central and east Europe have slower economic efficiency than member states of EU15 and some member states were afraid of massive imigration from new member states. That´s why some of them demanded protection of their labour market. Member states can use this freedom from the second part of last century, but all history of European communities is connected with very slow mobility of labour force. This trend is connected with all enlarging of EU, in spite of different economic efficiency of new member states. In my work I try to show behaving of czech labour force after join in May 2004. From reseach works is obvious, that member states don´t need to be afraid of massive imigration of czech labour force. From 1.5.2004 three states (Great Britain, Ireland, Sweden) EU15 opened their labour markets, others EU15 states applied transitional arrangements. After two years of our membership three states judge situation at their labour markets possitive. Poles are the most frequent migrants, but not only in Great Britain, Ireland and Sweden. Czechs aren´t very ferquent migrants. Czechs prefer short time migration, they want receive higher incomes, new experiences, improve their languages. Migration is typical for czech students, young people, mainly people to the age of 24 years. EU ofer special programs for certain preofession, mainly for diplomaholder, but we needn´t afraid of large brain drain. From 1.5.2006 have opened their labour markets also Spanish, Portugal, Finland and Greece. France, Belgium and Netherlands are going to open their labour markets gradually during next three years. Other states still ask of work permit
