Laboratory study of the mine water interaction of water discharged from adit Prokop (Stříbro) with calcitic limestone in batch experiments

Abstract:

Ze štoly Prokop ve Stříbře vytékají důlní vody s nadlimitními hodnotami zinku, kadmia a olova. Ty ovlivňují povrchové vodoteče, průsakové a podzemní vody a mají vliv na životní prostředí. Cílem práce je v laboratorních experimentech studovat vliv syntetické důlní vody s koncentracemi Zn2+, Cd2+, Pb2+ a kalcitický vápenec a najít perspektivní a finančně nenáročnou technologii k odstraňování následků kontaminovaných vod. V první části práce jsou zpracované teoretické poznatky o samotné lokalitě a metodách čištění důlních vod. Druhá část práce je experimentální. Cílem práce bylo ve vsádkových experimentech zjistit změny koncentrací Zn, Cd a Pb pro různé poměry důlní voda : kalcit a dále sledovat časové změny koncentrací Zn, Cd a Pb v důlní vodě v závislosti na poměru důlní voda : kalcit. Získaná experimentální data byla vyhodnocena a na základě toho navrhnut optimální poměr důlní voda : kalcit pro zjištění odpovídajícího poklesu koncentrací Zn, Cd a Pb. Z výsledků je patrné, že u vsádkových experimentech dochází k poklesu koncentrací Zn, Cd a Pb a jejich mobilita klesá společně s poklesem oxidačně–redukčního potenciálu.

Abstract:

From the adit Prokop in Stříbro pour mine waters with excess values of zinc, cadmium and lead. These affect surface streams, infiltration waters and groundwaters and affect the environment. Goal of the thesis is to examine the effect of synthetic mine water with concentrations Zn2+, Cd2+, Pb2 and calcite in laboratory experiments and find prospective and financialy inexpensive technology for eliminating the after-effects of contaminated waters. The first part of the thesis contains processed theoretical findings about the location itself and methods of cleaning of the mine waters. The second part is the laboratory part. The goal was to perform batch experiments and examine the changes in concentration of Zn, Cd and Pb in various mine water:calcite ratios and to examine the time changes in concentrations Zn, Cd and Pb in minewater in relation to the minewater:calcite ratio. Gained laboratory data have been analyzed and based on the results an optimal minewater:calcite ratio was proposed to find the corresponding decrease in concentra-tions of Zn, Cd and Pb. It is apparent from the results that a decrease in concentrations of Zn, Cd and Pb occurs in batch experiments and that the mobility of the elements decreases simulta-neously with the decrease of the redox potential.
