Birds of the Oriental region in the collections of the Silesian museum in Opava

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce byla revize pěti sbírek dermoplastických preparátů orientálních ptáků ve Slezském zemském muzeu v Opavě, determinace všech preparátů, jejich evidence a vytvoření katalogu sbírky. Preparáty pocházejí z loveckých výprav do zemí jižní a jihovýchodní Asie, jako jsou Indie, Nepál a Vietnam. Sbírky obsahovaly 139 preparátů. Nejpočetnější byla sbírka z Indie. Bylo to asi 48,92 % všech ptáků. Sbírka z Nepálu tvořila 38,13 % a sbírka z Vietnamu jen 12,9 5%. V této bakalářské práci bylo určeno celkem 136 preparátů náležících k 83 druhům. Tyto druhy pocházejí ze 7 řádů, 4 podřádů, 26 čeledí, 5 podčeledí a 54 rodů. Celkem byly určeny 3 poddruhy u 7 jedinců. Samci převažovali nad samicemi.

Abstract:

The aim of my bachelor thesis was a revision of the five collections of dermoplastic preparations of the Oriental species of birds in the Silesian Museum in Opava, determination of all preparations, their registration and making a catalogue of the collection. The preparations came from hunting expeditions to the countries of South and South-east Asia such as India, Nepal and Vietnam. The collections contained a total of 139 preparations. The largest was collection from India. It was about 48,92% of all the birds. Collection of Nepal formed 38.13% and a collection of Vietnam only 12.95%. In this bachelor thesis was determinated to a total of 136 specimens belonging to 83 species. These species come from 7 orders of magnitude, 4 suborders, 26 families, 5 subfamilies and 54 genera. Seven individuals were determined to subspecies. Males predominated over females.
