Cold weapons of Váh river from 10th – 16th century

Abstract:

The theme of this thesis is complet documentation and interpretation of blade weapon collection from the period of 10th to 16th century found in the Váh river. In this various and relatively large collection are swords from the period of 12th to 15th century, one estoc and dussacks from the period of 14th to 16th century. All weapons mentioned in this thesis are identified based on generally and globally recognized typology and dated. They are also metrically and photographically documented, drawn and compared to similar findings in Europe. At the end this collection of weapons from Váh river is interpreted by the option.chladné zbrane

Abstract:

Témou diplomovej práce je kompletná dokumentácia a vyhodnotenie chladných zbraní z 10. – 16. storočia nájdených v rieke Váh. V tomto pestrom a pomerne veľkom súbore sa vyskytujú meče z rozmedzia 12. – 15. storočia, jeden končiar a tesáky zo 14. – 16. storočia. Všetky zbrane sú určené podľa všeobecne a svetovo uznávaných typológií a následne datované. Taktiež sú metricky, kresebne aj fotograficky zdokumentované a porovnané s podobnými nálezmi v Európe. Na konci je súbor zbraní vyhodnotený a na základe možností interpretovaný.
