The concept of smart cities and the design of a selected cartographic and geoinformatic solution (on the example of transport)

Abstract:

Charakteristika chytrého města se kontinent od kontinentu, stát od státu, poněkud liší. V práci jsou porovnány implementace konceptu v Číně, Indii, Izraeli, USA, Evropě a v Česku. Pro potřeby této bakalářské práce chytré město charakterizuji jako souznění občanů se správou města a informačními a komunikačními technologiemi, pomocí nichž se město rozvíjí v souladu s principy udržitelného rozvoje. Ty se promítají do (minimálně) šesti tematických oblastí – os chytrého města. Dále jsou nastíněna čtyři možná uplatnění potenciálu geografických informačních systémů. Jako příklad chytré mobility – jedné z šesti os chytrého města – slouží případová studie Zaparkuj a jeď (respektive Park and Ride, dále P+R) v Blansku. Jeho výhodnost či nevýhodnost je posuzována z hlediska časové dostupnosti města Brna z P+R Blanska oproti užití automobilu. Pro výzkum jsem využil data z Google Maps API a Jízdních řádů IDOS. Z analýzy mimo jiné vyplývá, že P+R v Blansku není čistě z časového hlediska příliš výhodný. Do konečného rozhodnutí, zda použít P+R či nikoliv, však vstupují další činitelé, kteří jsou v práci popsáni.

Abstract:

The characteristic of Smart City varies in many aspects from a continent to continent, even a state to state. This thesis compares implementation of the concept in China, India, Israel, USA, Europe and Czechia. I define Smart City here as the alignment of citizens with government and Information and Communication Technologies in which the city does sustainably develop. The principles of sustainable development reflect on (at least) six thematic areas – the axes of Smart City. Furthermore, there are depicted four particular areas where geographic information systems could use their potential. The case study of the Park and Ride (P+R) in Blansko demonstrates Smart Mobility which is one of the six axes of Smart City. An advantageousness or disadvantageousness of the P+R from a time-accessibility point of view between Brno and the P+R in Blansko is examined in this study in comparison with using car instead. I obtained the data from Google Maps API and Timetables IDOS for this analysis which shows, that the P+R in Blansko is not advantageous enough when we take into consideration only the duration of the journey. Nonetheless, the choice to use or not to use P+R depends also on more factors which are described in the thesis.
