Abstract:

Events industry has been developing rapidly and improving significantly living standard in recent decades. The main reason for the remarkable development in the industry is innovation, which is easy to acknowledge yet difficult to achieve. The aim of this final thesis is to find out does hospitality industry adopt innovations in event management. Through finding that out, the primary aim is to find what are the most valuable methods for innovation applications. The secondary aim is for the author of the thesis to gain understanding what do restrain implementation of innovation technologies. The theoretical framework contains of definitions of event, trends in events, special events, different types of events, innovation, as well as a discription of how events are managed. The method of the research is the qualitative. Four semi-structure interviews and observation method were applied in the research process for comprehending clearly do the innovations exist in event management in hotels. The observation process occurred in three months (in Panorama Hotel Prague) and the interviews with four event professionals were conducted via email and personally in English language. The data collected from two research methods were analyzed to draw the conclusions for innovations used in events generally. To sum up, technology and deployment of guests are the most valuable techniques which have been applied strategically in numerous events.

Abstract:

Eventový průmysl se v posledních desetiletích rychle vyvíjí a významně zvyšuje životní úroveň. Hlavním důvodem tohoto značného růstu je inovace, která se dá lehce vytknout, ale o to hůř se jí dá dosáhnout. Cílem této bakalářské práce je zjistit, zda-li se inovace v průmyslu pohostinství týká i plánování eventů. Hlavním cílem je tedy zjistit hlavní metody inovace v praxi – tedy jak jsou tyto metody aplikované. Druhotným cílem autora je porozumět důvodům, proč a jak jsou různé metody inovací limitovány nebo omezovány. Teoretická část obsahuje definice eventů, tendece v eventech, speciální eventy, typy eventů, inovace a také popis, jak jsou eventy řízeny. Zvolený způsob výzkumu je kvalitativní. Čtyři polostandardizované rozhovoy a pozorovací metoda byly použity v průběhu výzkumu k dosažení výsledku, zda-li inovace v eventovém managementu hotelů existují. Proces pozorování probíhal tři měsíce (v Panorama Hotel Prague) a rozhovory se čtyřmi eventovými profesionály probíhali buď osobně, nebo emailovou komunikací, v anglickém jazyce. Všechna posbíraná data z obou požitých metod sběru dat byla analyzována, aby možlo dojít k výsledku, jak je inovace obecně využita v eventech. Jako shrnutí bych dodala, že technologie a důslednost ve zpětné vazbě hostů jsou nejdůležitějšími technikami, které byly strategicky využity v mnoha eventech.
