Cieľom tejto bakalárskej práce je analyzovať slovenské a nemecké rodné (krstné) mená. Práca predstavuje niektoré fázy vývoja už od najstarších období až po súčasnosť. Zaoberá sa aj voľbou krstných mien a taktiež aj motívmi, ktoré ovplyvňujú ich výber. V krátkosti sa dotýka aj právnych predpisov a noriem v súvislosti s výberom mena.
