On Some Fatic Speech Elements in Czech and their Equivalents in German

Abstract:

The Graduation thesis „On Some Fatic Speech Elements in Czech and their Equivalents in German“ deals with chosen Czech greeting formulas and their equivalents in German. The purpose of this thesis was to find out the right meaning expressions of these formulas in German. The results are confronted with what common dictionaries mention. The thesis is composed of introduction, theoretical part, description of methodological procedure, own analysis and final evaluation. The theoretical part forms three parts, corresponding with subject: 1. Pragmatics (description where the theme belongs), 2. Greeting formulas in Czech technical literature, 3. Greetings formulas in German technical literature. The methodological procedure meets us with methods of analysis elaboration. One part of this procedure is hypotheses that say that results can be found only in imaginative literature (parallel text) and in spoken corpuses. The origin of the theses is Czech, Czech and Czech-German dictionaries. The used method is comparative analysis of corpuses data. In the part named Analysis, the research of chosen Czech greetings is realized: „Ahoj“, „Nazdar“ and „Čau“. First, forms of greetings are looked up in Czech national corpus (ČNK) in corpuses bmk, pmk, syn 2000, syn 2005, syn 2006 pub. On the basis of these forms an analysis in multilingual corpus InterCorp is realized. Results are compiled in tables and graphs. The final data evaluation is a summary of German equivalents of chosen greetings and results are compared with dates in dictionaries.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Einige Kontaktumgrenzungen im Tschechischen und ihre Äquivalente im Deutschen“ se zabývá vybranými českými zdravícími formulemi a jejich ekvivalenty němčině. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, čemu odpovídají některé české kontaktní formulky v němčině. Výsledky jsou porovnány s tím, co uvádí běžné slovníky. Práce se skládá z úvodu, teoretické části, popisu metodologického postupu, vlastní analýzy a závěrečného vyhodnocení. Teoretickou část tvoří tři části, relevantní k tématu: 1. pragmatika (popis, kam téma patří), 2. „zdravící formule“ v české odborné literatuře, 3. „zdravící formule“ v německé odborné literatuře. Metodologický postup seznamuje s metodami vypracování analýzy. Součástí jsou i hypotézy, že výsledky nalezneme pouze v beletrii (paralelní text) a v mluvených korpusech. Východiskem práce je čeština, české a česko-německé slovníky. Používaná metoda je srovnávací analýza korpusových dat. V části analýza je realizován výzkum vybraných českých pozdravů: „Ahoj“, „Nazdar“ a „Čau“. Nejprve jsou v Českém národním korpusu (ČNK) vyhledány formy pozdravů v korpusech bmk, pmk, syn 2000, syn 2005, syn 2006 pub. Na základě těchto forem probíhá analýza v multilinguálním korpusu InterCorp. Výsledky jsou zpracovány v tabulkách a grafech. Závěrečné vyhodnocení je shrnutím toho, jaké jsou německé ekvivalenty vybraných pozdravů a výsledky jsou porovnány s údaji ve slovnících.
