Hydrothermal alteration of the granites from the Dyje Batholith

Abstract:

Cílem této práce byla především charakterizace silně alterovaných hornin pocházejících z okolí rakouského města Retz v dyjském masivu. Studovány byly 4 vzorky, z nichž dva jsou granity a dva ryolity. Horniny byly studovány makroskopicky, mikroskopicky a v případě ryolitů byly provedeny mikroanalýzy minerálů a chemické analýzy hornin. Veškeré tyto metody potvrdily granitický typ horniny. Granity jsou pro dyjský masiv typickou horninou, naproti tomu ryolity v dyjském masivu doposud nebyly popsány ani studovány a představují pro danou oblast nově objevený horninový typ. Oběma typy hornin hojně pronikají křemenné žíly, jež se protínají i sami navzájem a jsou silně alterovány. Hydrotermální alterace bude nejspíše nízkoteplotního charakteru, jelikož hlavními znaky alterace jsou sericitizace a výskyt limonitu či hematitu. Alterace hornin proběhla pravděpodobně za variabilních oxidačně-redukčních podmínek, což se makroskopicky projevuje jejich pestrým zbarvením od šedo-zelené až po výrazně červenou. Granity jsou vzhledem k tomu, že ryolity obsahují xenolity granitů, nejstarší. Křemenné žilky naopak nejmladší a vyskytující se ve více generacích.

Abstract:

The aim of this work was particularly characterization of strong altered rocks coming from the nearby Austrian town of Retz in the Dyje massif. Four samples were studied, two of which are granites and two others are rhyolites. The rocks were studied macroscopically and microscopically if rhyolites were made microanalysis of minerals and chemical analysis of rocks. All these methods have confirmed the granitic rock type. Granites are Dyje Massif typical rock, whereas the rhyolites in the Dyje massif have never been described or studied and pose for the region rediscovered the rock type. Both types of rocks frequently penetrate quartz veins which intersect each other and themselves are strongly altered. Hydrothermal alteration is likely to be low-temperature characteristics, as the main characters are sericitization alteration and limonite and hematite occurrence. Rock alteration was probably under varying redox conditions, which manifests itself macroscopically their variegated from gray-green to red considerably. Granites are the oldest due to the fact that the rhyolites contain xenoliths of granites. Quartz veins and vice versa youngest occurring in multiple generations.
