Backward walking training in patients after stroke

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá chůzí pozpátku jako možnou metodou ovlivnění chůze u pacientů po cévní mozkové příhodě. Teoretická část obsahuje popis nemoci, její léčbu a rehabilitaci. Je zde popsána i chůze z hlediska krokového cyklu, kontroly a stability. Dále teoretická část obsahuje rozdíly chůze pozpátku oproti chůzi vpřed a možné výhody jejího tréninku. Praktická část obsahuje kazuistiky tří pacientů, kteří chůzi pozpátku trénovali. Cílem práce bylo zhodnotit efektivitu chůze pozpátku a její vliv na časoprostorové parametry chůze a stabilitu. Chůze byla hodnocena pomocí akcelerometru a testů chůze 10MWT, Timed Up and Go, stabilita byla hodnocena pomocí balanční škály dle Bergové. Tréninkem chůze pozpátku došlo ke zlepšení parametrů chůze i ke zlepšení stability.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with backward walking as a possible method to influence gait in patients after stroke. The theoretical part includes a description of the disease, its treatment, and rehabilitation. It also describes gait in terms of the step cycle, control, and stability. Furthermore, the theoretical part discusses the differences between backward walking and forward walking, as well as the potential benefits of its training. The practical part includes case studies of three patients who trained in backward walking. The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the effectiveness of backward walking and its influence on spatiotemporal gait parameters and stability. Gait was assessed using an accelerometer and the 10MWT and Timed Up and Go tests, while stability was assessed using the Berg Balance Scale. Backward walking training led to improvements in gait parameters and stability.
