Design and implementation of an information system for a dental clinic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá návrhem a implementací modernizovaného informačního systému pro soukromou zubní ordinaci. Cílem práce bylo analyzovat stávající informační systém, identifikovat jeho nedostatky a navrhnout řešení, které by zefektivnilo některé procesy a zlepšilo kvalitu poskytovaných služeb. V teoretické části práce jsou definovány klíčové metody, které byly využity při vstupní analýze, včetně metodiky MMABP pro modelování a analýzu podnikových procesů. V praktické části je představena analýza současného stavu informačního systému v ordinaci, na jejímž základě byla formulována kritéria pro výběr nového systému. Dále práce popisuje proces výběru technologického řešení a jeho implementaci. Zásadním výstupem práce je nově implementovaný informační systém, který přináší lepší správu pacientských dat, efektivnější správu materiálu a zlepšuje plánování a koordinaci v ordinaci. Výsledky práce ukazují, že modernizace informačního systému vedla ke zvýšení efektivnosti operací v ordinaci, zlepšila spokojenost pacientů a umožnila lepší využití zdrojů. Práce tak přispívá k diskusi o významu informačních systémů ve zdravotnictví a zdůrazňuje potřebu průběžné modernizace technologického vybavení v oblasti zdravotní péče.

Abstract:

This thesis addresses the design and implementation of a modernized information system for a private dental clinic. The aim was to analyze the existing information system, identify its deficiencies, and propose solutions that would streamline certain processes and improve the quality of services provided. The theoretical part defines key methods used in the initial analysis, including the MMABP methodology for modeling and analyzing business processes. In the practical part, an analysis of the current state of the information system in the clinic is presented, on the basis of which criteria for selecting a new system were formulated. The thesis also describes the process of selecting a technological solution and its implementation. A crucial output of this work is the newly implemented information system, which provides better management of patient data, more efficient material management, and improves planning and coordination in the clinic. The results show that the modernization of the information system has increased the efficiency of operations in the clinic, improved patient satisfaction, and enabled better resource utilization. Thus, the work contributes to the discussion on the importance of information systems in healthcare and emphasizes the need for continuous modernization of technological equipment in the medical field.
