Cardiopulmonary resuscitation scenes in movies

Abstract:

Kardiopulmonální resuscitace ve filmech a seriálech nebývá vyobrazena realisticky. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jak je resuscitace prezentována ve vybraných seriálech (jednom českém a jednom americkém) a zda je v těchto seriálech prováděna správně. Jednotlivé scény s kardiopulmonální resuscitací byly popsány a hodnoceny dle předem stanovených kritérií a porovnány s doporučenými postupy. Bylo pozorováno dohromady 28 epizod během, kterých bylo zaznamenáno dohromady 30 resuscitačních scén. Resuscitování byli převážně dospělí muži, ale ne senioři. Resuscitační scény byli prezentovány nerealisticky. V seriálu Modry kód byly všechny resuscitační scény úspěšné a v Noční směně bylo 11 úspěšných a 5 neúspěšných.

Abstract:

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation in movies and TV show sis not usually potrayed realistically. Main goal of this thesis was to find how is resusitation presented in speicific TV shows (one czech and one american) and if it is done properly. Concrete scenes with cardiopulmonary resuscitation were described and evaluated by set criteria and copared with recommended procedure. Twent-eight epizodes were observed in total in which thirty resuscitation scenes were presented. Resuscitated were mainly adult males, but not seniors. Resuscitation scenes were not presented realistically. In the show Modrý kód were all scenes successful and in the night shift were 11 successful and 5 unsuccessful.
