Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá hodnocením biodegradability vybraných polymerních materiálů v prostředí kompostu. Biodegradace byla stanovena na základě množství vyprodukovaného oxidu uhličitého. Tento plyn byl měřen pomocí hmotnostního analyzátoru plynů. Testované vzorky byly tvořeny směsí PBAT a TPS, přičemž TPS byl připraven pomocí dvou druhů plastifikátorů (močovina, glycerol). Průběh biodegradace byl sledován i optickou a skenovací elektronovou mikroskopií. Výsledky ukázaly, že vzorky obsahující TPS biodegradovaly rychleji než samostatný PBAT, a to především v počáteční fázi biodegradačního pokusu. Pomocí optické mikroskopie bylo potvrzeno, že během biodegradace docházelo k výraznému úbytku škrobu ve vzorcích. Pravděpodobně byl mikroorganismy nejdříve rozkládán škrob a až poté zbylá polymerní matrice, což dokazují i průběhy biodegradačních křivek. SEM snímky potvrdily přítomnost mikroorganismů na povrchu vzorků, které byly podrobeny biologickému rozkladu. Z výsledných hodnot mineralizace uhlíku z hlediska produkce CO2 bylo zjištěno, že větší vliv na biodegradaci testovaných vzorků měl druh použitého plastifikátoru než celkový obsah TPS.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with assessment of biodegradability of selected polymeric materials in compost. Biodegradation was determined based on amount of carbon dioxide produced. This gas was measured using mass gas analyser. Tested samples were composed of a mixture of PBAT and TPS, with the TPS prepared using two types of plasticizers (urea, glycerol). The course of biodegradation was monitored by optical and scanning electron microscopy. The results showed that samples containing starch biodegraded faster than separate PBAT, especially in the initial phase of the biodegradation experiment. It was confirmed by optical microscopy that there was a significant loss of starch in the samples during biodegradation. Probably starch was first decomposed by microorganisms, and then the remaining polymer matrix was decomposed, as confirmed by the course of biodegradation curves. SEM images confirmed the presence of microorganisms on the surface of samples that had undergone biodegradation. From the resulting carbon minarelization values from the viewpoint of CO2 production, it was found that the type of plasticizer used had a greater influence on the biodegradation of the test samples than the total TPS content.
