Cílem této diplomové práce je poskytnout analýzu románu Daleko od hlučícího davu od Thomase Hardyho, a to skrze dějové schéma hrdinských příběhů, tzv. monomýtu vytvořeného Josephem Campbellem. Práce zkoumá, jakým způsobem příběh hlavní hrdinky, Bathsheby Everdenové, reflektuje jednotlivé kroky schématu zaměřeného primárně na mužské hrdiny vzhledem k tomu, že hrdinka je žena. Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to provide an analysis of Thomas Hardy’s novel, Far from the Madding Crowd, through the narrative pattern of the hero’s journey, a monomyth created by Joseph Campbell. The thesis explores how the story of the main character, Bathsheba Everdene, reflects the steps of the primarily masculine journey, given that the hero is a woman.
