Environmental Health Index on the Example of Selected Cities in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje tématu hodnocení indexu environmentálního zdraví na příkladu měst České republiky. Práce vymezuje jednotlivé environmentální oblasti, které ovlivňují lidské zdraví a strategické dokumenty zaměřené na problematiku environmentálního zdraví. Aplikační část je zaměřena na vyhodnocení indexu environmentálního zdraví ve 4 vybraných městech České republiky – Uherské Hradiště, Jeseník, Blansko, Bohumín. Stav environmentálního zdraví byl posouzen prostřednictvím 12 dílčích indikátorů reprezentujících 5 environmentálních oblastí, které jsou na území pozorovány – kvalita ovzduší, hluková zátěž, zelená infrastruktura, modrá infrastruktura, podmínky bydlení a technická infrastruktura. Pořadí měst bylo stanoveno na základě výsledků kompozitního indikátoru a metody TOPSIS. U obou metod se na prvním místě umístilo město Jeseník, a naopak na posledním místě městská část Nový Bohumín.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of environmental health index evaluation on the example of cities in the Czech Republic. The thesis defines the individual environmental areas, that affect human health and strategic documents focused on the issue of environmental health. The application part is focused on the evaluation of the index environmental health in 4 selected cities of the Czech Republic – Uherské Hradiště, Jeseník, Blansko, Bohumín. The state of environmental health was assessed through 12 sub-indicators representing 5 environmental areas observed in the territory – air quality, noise pollution, green infrastructure, blue infrastructure, housing conditions and technical infrastructure. The ranking of the cities was determined on the basis of the results of the composite indicator and the TOPSIS method. For both methods, the town of Jeseník was ranked first, and the town of Nový Bohumín was ranked last.
