Social Support from the Perspective of Bereaved Women

Abstract:

Diplomová magisterská práce se zabývá životní situací pozůstalých žen a dimenzemi směru, disponsibility a obsahu sociální opory. Cílem práce bylo nalézt odpověď na hlavní výzkumnou otázku: „Z jakých zdrojů opory čerpají pomoc pozůstalé ženy ve vybraném regionu?“ V teoretické části je popsána životní situace pozůstalých žen a její specifika, genderové aspekty truchlení a konkrétní ztráty. Zmíněny jsou determinanty ovlivňující proces truchlení. Prostor je věnován definici sociální opory, její klasifikaci, významu a zdrojům. Závěr patří formální opoře a péči v daném regionu. Empirická část práce zahrnuje metodiku, účel, cíl a plán výzkumu. Byl proveden kvalitativní výzkum formou interview, který sledoval zdroje sociální opory tak, jak je vnímaly pozůstalé ženy v období ztráty a truchlení. Účelem práce bylo zjistit, jaké potřeby pozůstalé ženy v té době měly a jaké zdroje k uspokojení těchto potřeb využily. Na výzkumu spolupracovalo osm žen v současném věku 22 až 59 let, které přišly o manžela, partnera, rodiče, sourozence, prarodiče a tetu. Na základě získaných dat a v porovnání s teoretickou částí byly nalezeny základní zdroje sociální opory, vliv těchto zdrojů na zpracování události úmrtí a vliv osobnostních předpokladů pozůstalých žen při čerpání opory ze sociálního okolí.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the life situation of bereaved women and dimensions of direction, disponsibility and content of social support. The aim of this diploma thesis was to answer the main research question: „From what sources of support bereaved women in the selected region get help?“ The theoretical part describes the life situations of bereaved women and its specifics, gender aspects of grief and specific losses. There are mentioned determinants, which influence the process of grieving. Space is devoted to the definition of social support, its classification, meaning and resources. The conclusion includes a formal support and care in the region. The empirical part includes a methodology, purpose, goal and plan of the research. Qualitative research was performed through interviews that followed the sources of social support as bereaved women perceived in times of loss and grief. The purpose of the study was to identify the needs of bereaved women at that time and the resources to meet those needs. Eight women in age of 22-59 years, who had lost their husband, partner, parents, siblings, grandparents and an aunt, collaborated with me on the research. Based on the obtained data and compared with the theoretical part, there were found basic sources of social support, influence of these sources on dealing with event of death and influence of personality disposition of bereaved women when used support from the social surroundings.
