Impact of the increase in funding to the cultural sector in Brno

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce „Dopad zvýšení objemu finančních prostředků do odvětví kultury ve městě Brně“ je kvantifikace ekonomických dopadů kulturních příspěvkových organizací města Brna při zvýšení objemů finančních prostředků do nich plynoucích a jejich následná komparace s vynaloženými prostředky ze strany města. Práce též v této souvislosti srovnává vybrané ukazatele výkonnosti jednotlivých kulturních příspěvkových organizací zřízených městem Brnem. V první části je představen kulturní průmysl, druhá část práce problematiku prohlubuje kulturními politikami. Ve třetí části je přistoupeno k popisu současných uplatňovaných kulturních politik. Čtvrtá část diskutuje model ekonomických dopadů a přínosů kultury spolu s mnohými vypracovanými studiemi. V části páté je model aplikován v samotném výzkumu, který se dále opírá o další ukazatele výkonnosti. V závěru jsou výsledné hodnoty komentovány v politických souvislostech.

Abstract:

The goal of the submitted thesis “Impact of the increase in funding to the cultural sector in Brno“ is the quantification of the economic impacts of the municipal cultural organisations of the Brno city. There is a comparison of the public interventions in municipal cultural sector with selected performance indicators of these organisations. In the beginning, there is an introduction of the cultural industry and cultural policies as well. In the next part, there is a description of the acutal cultural policies applied. The economic impacts and benefits model is discussed with the findings of various papers on the issue. This theory is, in the practical part, applied onto municipal cultural organizations. In the conclusion, there is a comparison with selected performance indicators of these organisations, resulting in discussion with possible political consequences.
