The German Literary World of the Hlučín Region on the Example of Max Ring´s Literary Work: Der Kleinstädter in Berlin

Abstract:

The following thesis investigates the collision of the protagonist of the analysed novel Der Kleinstädter in Berlin - a petite bourgeoisie August - with the metropolitan environment of Berlin. This thesis consists of seven chapters. The first chapter is focused on the author of the analysed novel, Max Ring; the second chapter is devoted to the theory of the novel; and the aim of the third chapter is to present a brief outline of the politico-historical background of Berlin in the 19th century, which is the period in which the plot of the novel takes place. The empirical part of this thesis investigates the collision of the petite bourgeoisie August in the following three areas: meeting with Berliners, finances and housing and culture.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce má za cíl zkomoumat kolizi hlavní postavy analyzovaného románu Der Kleinstädter in Berlin - maloměšťana Augusta - s velkoměstským prostředím Berlína. Práce se skládá celkem ze sedmi kapitol. První kapitola je věnována autorovi analyzovaného románu Maxi Ringovi, druhá se zabývá teorií románu, třetí kapitola se věnuje historicko-politickému pozadí Berlína 19. století, tedy období, ve kterém se děj analyzovaného románu odehrává. Empirická část diplomové práce zkoumá kolizi maloměšťana Augusta ve třech následujících oblastech: setkávání s Berlíňany, finance a bydlení a kultura.
