Pedagogical aspects of LARP

Abstract:

Tuto diplomovou práci, nazvanou Pedagogické aspekty larpu, jsem rozdělila do dvou částí. První je část teoretická, kde jsem se zaměřila na seznámení s larpem a objasnění, co to vlastně larp je a vymezila styly larpu. Následuje slovník důležitých hesel a termínů, který je důležitý z hlediska pochopení vyjadřování jednotlivých účastníků výzkumu. Jako každá skupina, kultura či subkultura, má i tato svůj styl vyjadřování a mluvy. Následuje stručný historický přehled vývoje larpu od jeho počátku až do současnosti. V historii najdeme jak tuzemský, tak zahraniční vývoj. Na známém larpu Systém, jsem demonstrovala, jak asi taková hra funguje, jaký je její scénář a jakým způsobem jsou hráči do hry zapojeni. Larp může dobře sloužit i jako výchovná metoda. Popsala jsem tedy funkce larpu jako hry a jeho vliv na jedince z pohledu výchovného. V závěru teoretické části jsem zmapovala, jaká je situace v zahraničí ve školství, kde je larp hojně využíván jako edukační metoda, nastiňuji tedy, jak lze larp takto aplikovat. V praktické části jsem měla určený cíl zmapovat pedagogické aspekty larpu. Výzkum byl realizován kvalitativním způsobem prostřednictvím rozhovorů. Zjišťovala jsem jaký má larp vliv na jedince, ať už pozitivní či negativní, jaký konkrétně výchovný vliv na jedince má a možnosti jeho využití v institucionálním vzdělávání.

Abstract:

This thesis called Educational aspects of larp is divided into two parts. The first theoretical part is focused on introduction to larp, explanation what is larp and specification of larp styles. This part is followed by a dictionary of important headwords and terms that are crucial for understanding the expressions of all the survey participants. As any kind of group, culture or subculture, this group has also its own style of expression and language. Then follows a short historical overview of larp development from its beginning to the present time. In history we can find both domestic and international development of larp. On the example of the well known larp "System" I showed the functioning of the game, how the script looks like and the way of involving the players in the game. Larp can be efficiently used as an educational method, therefore I described larp as a game with a an educational function and its influence on individuals. In the end of the theoretical part I mapped the situation in the international education system, which often uses larp as an educational method, so I outline how larp can be applied in a similar way. In the practical part of the thesis my goal was to map educational aspects of larp. The research was carried out using a qualitative method, namely interviews. I was interested specifically either in a positive or negaive way larp can influence an individual in the educational way and its options to use it in an institutional education.
