Analysis of The Conservative Party's attitudes after the BREXIT referendum

Abstract:

The Bachelor’s thesis is focused on the analysis of the British Conservative party and the origin of its approach after the Brexit referendum. Part of this thesis will be focused on the program and ideology of the party, which is enforce by prime minister Theresa May. The main goal will be explaining the change of the Conservative party’s attitude towards the European union and party’s approach after the referendum. Additional goal will be to analyse requirements May is asking for while negotiating about new relations with the EU. These will be compared to David Cameron’s efforts to renegotiate a better deal with the EU and his effort to keep the country in the structure. The analysis will be based on comparison of party’s approach in Cameron’s second term from 2015 and current government of Theresa May, which will be presented in the official speeches and British Conservative party web site.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa sústredí na analýzu britskej Konzervatívnej strany a premeny postoja tejto strany po referende o zotrvaní v Európskej únii. Súčasťou práce bude analýza aktuálneho programu a ideológie strany, ktorú presadzuje premiérka Theresa Mayová. Hlavným cieľom bude objasniť zmeny postoja strany a odpovedať na otázku ako sa zmenila percepcia Európskej únie a smerovanie britskej Konzervatívnej strany po referende o brexite. Doplnkovým cieľom výskumu bude analýza požiadaviek Mayovej v otázkach uzatvorenia výhodnej dohody s Európskou úniou v rámci vystúpenia Veľkej Británie z jej štruktúr. Dôležitým prvkom bakalárskej práce bude porovnanie týchto požiadaviek s úsilím Davida Camerona o opätovné prejednanie postavenia Veľkej Británie v Európskej únii a s jeho snahou o zotrvanie v EÚ. Bakalárska práca sa bude opierať najmä o komparáciu postojov Konzervatívnej strany počas druhej vlády Davida Camerona od roku 2015 a súčasnej vlády Theresy Mayovej, ktoré sú prezentované v oficiálnych prejavov oboch premiérov a na stránke britskej Konzervatívnej strany.
