Během vykonávání programu je obvyklé, že interaguje s okolním prostředím. Tyto interakce jsou prováděny pomocí funkcí které neposkytují mnoho záruk o svém výsledku. Proto je užitečné verifikovat jak se program chová v různých situacích. Nástroj pro verifikaci DIVINE používá pro simulaci prostředí modelový operační systém DiOS. When a program is being executed it usually interacts with its environment. These interactions are done using functions that do not provide many guarantees about their result.
