The factors influencing the injecting drug users' risk behaviour leading to the transmission of infectious diseases

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je nalezení odpovědi na otázku, jaké jsou faktory ovlivňující rizikové chování injekčních uživatelů drog vedoucí k nákaze infekčními chorobami. Práce je dělena do tří základních částí. V teoretické části je rozpracován teoretický základ, umožňující nalezení odpovědi na hlavní výzkumnou otázku a definovány základní pojmy, které jsou pro tuto práci podstatné. Metodologická část práce popisuje vybranou výzkumnou strategii, techniku výzkumu a zdůvodnění, proč byly pro tento výzkum vybrány. Empirická část obsahuje analýzu a interpretaci získaných dat. Výchozí je pro ní šest rozhovorů s injekčními uživateli drog. Smyslem jejich rozboru byla identifikace rizikových situací, ve kterých dochází k nákaze infekčními chorobami a důvodů, které injekční uživatele drog vedou k rizikovému chování. Práce dochází k závěru, že stěžejními důvody rizikového chování injekčních uživatelů drog jsou především jejich postoje, vliv ostatních uživatelů a silná chuť na drogu.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to answer the question what are the factors influencing the injecting drug users' risk behaviour leading to the transmission of infectious diseases. The paper is divided into three main parts. Theoretical part developes the theoretical basis (framework) that enables to find the answer to the main research question. It also defines the substantive terms that are being used in the paper. Methodological part describes the chosen strategy of research, its technique and the reasons of their use. Empirical part contains analysis and interpretation of the collected data. It is based on six structured interviews of injection drug users. The sense of analysis is to identify the situations of increased risk of infectious disease transmission and the reasons leading the users to this risk behaviour. The author concludes that the fundamental causes of injecting drug users risk behaviour are there attitudes, influnce of other drug users and craving.
