Václav Beneš Třebízský psal svou historickou prózu v sedmdesátých a osmdesátých letech 19. století, kdy sílí tendence zakládat tento žánr na pečlivém studiu minulosti. Tak psali zejména Jirásek a Winter. Arne Novák nařkl Beneše z toho, že nepřijal nové, obrodné tendence. Abstract:
Václav Beneš Třebízský wrote his historical prose in seventies and eighties of 19th century. In the same time there tend to become a movement of realism but Beneš wrote his prose in style of romanticism and becuse of that the author of this assignment think Beneš is pseudoromanticist.
