Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: comparision between conservative treatment and surgery.

Abstract:

The work will be about the conservative treatment to cure and make CTS symptoms bearable in order to delay or, even better, to avoid, any sort of surgery. A short overview on hand anatomy and on CTS symptoms and etiology will follow, together with an explanation concerning the main clinical exams allowing a diagnosis with a good degree of reliability. The work, then, will focus on the description of the several conservative methods useful to reduce pain, night tingling and to improve the grip strength of the affected hand. Of course, speaking about surgery will be unavoidable in order to expose advantages and disadvantages of the two methodologies compared.

Abstract:

L'elaborato verter? essenzialmente sul trattamento conservativo per curare e attenuare la sintomatologia legata alla sindrome del tunnel carpale al fine di ritardare o, meglio ancora, evitare l'intervento chirurgico. Dopo un breve excursus sull'anatomia della mano e su sintomatologia ed eziologia della STC, spiegando a tale proposito quali sono i principali esami clinici che permettono una diagnosi con un buon grado di attendibilit? della sindrome stessa, la trattazione si concentrer? sulla descrizione delle varie metodologie conservative atte a ridurre il dolore, le parestesie notturne e a migliorare la forza prensile della mano colpita. Inevitabile, sar?, quindi, soffermarsi, sull'intervento chirurgico al fine di esporre vantaggi e svantaggi delle due metodologie a confronto.
