Application of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation on peripheral paresis of upper extremities

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na účinky terapie využívající metodu proprioceptivní neuromuskulární facilitace u pacientů s periferní parézou horních končetin. V teoretické části je nejdříve rozebráno téma periferní parézy s popisem míšního nervu a jeho reakcí na poškození, etiologie periferních paréz a jejich dělení. Dále je věnována pozornost brachiálnímu plexu celkově, jednotlivým nervům a jejich poškození. V další kapitole jsou rozebírány jednotlivé vyšetřovací metody využívané pro stanovení a diferenciaci periferní parézy. Dále jsou lehce zmíněny metody terapie a nakonec je věnována pozornost samotné metodě proprioceptivní periferní neuromuskulární facilitaci. Na začátku praktické části jsou stanoveny cíle hypotézy a charakteristika sledovaného souboru. Hlavní část je však věnována čtyřem kazuistickým studiím u pacientů s periferní parézou celého brachiálního plexu nebo jeho částí. U každé je zaznamenáno kompletní vyšetření, stanovení terapie i její výsledky a následná doporučení ve formě dlouhodobého rehabilitačního plánu.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis is focused on the effects of therapy using the method of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation on patients with peripheral paresis of the upper extremities. In theoretical part is at first discussed the topic of peripheral paresis with the description of the spinal nerve and its responses to injury, the etiology of a peripheral paresis and their division. Attention is also paid to brachial plexus as whole, than to individual nerves and results of their lesion. In the next chapter are discussed the various investigative methods used for the determination and differentiation of peripheral paresis. Furthermore are lightly mentioned various methods of therapy and finally the attention is paid to the method of peripheral proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation itself. At the beginning of the practical part hypothesis, objectives and characteristics of the reference population are specified. However the main part is focused on four clinical studies of patients with peripheral paresis of the whole brachial plexus or parts of it. Each one includes complete examination, determination of therapy and its results and the recommendations in the form of long-term rehabilitation plan.
