Issuing and Using of Payment Cards

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce „Vydávání a používání platebních karet“ je zejména přiblížení využití platebních karet a komparace nákladů platebních karet, které s nimi souvisí. Práce je v prvních kapitolách zaměřena nejen na stručné seznámení se s platebními kartami z historického hlediska, ale zabývá se zde i obecnou definicí platební karty, jako je například její právní úprava. Kromě toho jsou zde uvedeny jednotlivé náležitosti platebních karet a jejich nejstandardnější rozdělení dle různých typů členění. Následující kapitola pojednává o možných způsobech využití, které lze v současnosti platební kartou uskutečnit, neboli jejich účel. Týká se to tedy běžných transakcí, ale i doplňkových služeb. Další část je věnována bezpečnosti platebních karet, jejímž obsahem jsou bezpečnostní prvky platební karty, ale i některá další rizika, se kterými se držitel karty může setkat při každodenním používání karty. Na závěr této práce jsou porovnávány dvě platební karty pro občany, jak debetní, tak i kreditní karty, které jsou vydávány rozdílnými bankami. Tato část je tedy zaměřena především na jejich analyzování odlišností z pohledu klienta.

Abstract:

The subject of the thesis "The Issuing and Use of Credit Cards" is primarily the use of credit cards and the comparison of costs related to them. The early chapters of the thesis contain a brief introduction to credit cards from a historical point of view and deal with the general definition of credit cards, such as their legislation. They also list the individual elements of credit cards and their standard division according to different types of structuring. The following chapter discusses the potential uses of credit cards today, respectively their purpose. This applies to regular transactions as well as additional services. The next section is devoted to credit card security; it talks about the security elements of credit cards, as well as certain other risks that a cardholder may encounter in the everyday use of the card. The conclusion of the thesis compares two credit cards, both debit and credit cards, issued by different banks. This section focuses primarily on analyzing the differences from the client's perspective.
