Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje prevenci genocid prostřednictvím výuky o Holokaustu. Cílem je zdůvodnit zařazení tohoto typu vzdělávání do osnov učitelů společenských věd na základních a středních školách a diskutovat o jeho přínosech a výzvách. Autor zkoumal historické výskyty zločinů proti lidskosti, aby identifikoval jejich ideologie a spouštěcí mechanismy. Tím zdůrazňuje nutnost pochopení Holokaustu v historickém kontextu před jeho zařazením do výukových programů. Součástí studie jsou různé metody vyvolávající zájem a porozumění studentů. Dále autor nabízí čtenáři rozhovory s učiteli dějepisu a občanské výchovy, aby zjistil stav tohoto druhu výuky v České republice. Uvádí také jejich zkušenosti s výukou tohoto tématu. Práce zdůrazňuje, že vzdělání by mělo být využíváno pro dobro lidstva. Autor se v závěru pokouší doložit, že holocaust má své místo v osnovách základních a středních škol a že slouží k prevenci genocidy.

Abstract:

This master’s thesis is dedicated to preventing genocides through teaching about the Holocaust. The aim is to justify the placement of this type of education in the curricula of teachers of social studies in primary and secondary schools and to discuss its benefits and challenges. The author researched historical occurrences of crimes against humanity to identify their ideologies and triggering mechanisms. By achieving this, he emphasizes the necessity of understanding the Holocaust in the historical background before its inclusion into the teaching programmes. Various methods generating interest and understanding of students are part of the study, which offers the reader interviews with history and civic education teachers to ascertain the state of this education in the Czech Republic. Their experiences with teaching this topic he introduces as well. The thesis accentuates that education should be employed for the good of humanity. The author concludes by attempting to provide evidence that the Holocaust has its place in the curricula of primary and secondary schools and that it serves the purpose of genocide prevention.
