Rehabilitation protocols in forearm, wrist and hand fractures: clinical case

Abstract:

From a skeletal point of view, the upper limb is represented by the thoracic belt which includes the scapula and collarbone, and the free part represented by the humerus, the radius, the ulna and the hand. From the articular point of view we find the sternoclavicular and acromioclavicular joints in the area of the thoracic belt; while the free part has the following joints: shoulder-humeral, elbow, distal radio-ulnar and hand. The injuries that mostly affect the upper limb are fractures that can be subsequent to bone deterioration or accidental trauma. In this work we will deal with fractures related to trauma following accidental falls and in particular those related to high energy trauma affecting the forearm, wrist and hand

Abstract:

Dal punto di vista scheletrico l'arto superiore ? rappresentato dalla cintura toracica che comprende la scapola e la clavicola, e dalla parte libera rappresentata dall'omero, dal radio, dall'ulna e dalla mano. Dal punto di vista articolare troviamo l'articolazione sternoclavicolare e quella acromioclavicolare nella zona della cintura toracica; mentre la parte libera presenta le seguenti articolazioni: scapolo-omerale, del gomito, radio-ulnare distale e della mano. Le lesioni che maggiormente interessano l'arto superiore sono le fratture che possono essere successive al deterioramento osseo oppure a traumi accidentali. In questo lavoro tratteremo le fratture legate a traumi successivi a cadute accidentali e in particolare quelle legate a traumi ad alta energia che interessano l'avambraccio, il polso e la mano.
