Vzteklina v regionu Jihovýchodní Asie: fatalní a opomíjená zoonóza

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problémem vztekliny v oblasti Jihovýchodní Asie (Myanmar, Thajsko a Kambodža). Teoretická část práce seznamuje čtenáře se základními pojmy spojenými se vzteklinou, popisuje regiony, které se efektivními metodami vypořádaly s touto infekční zoonózou, ale také ty, které selhaly. Dále práce zkoumá vývoj vakcinačních programů a opatření ve vytyčeném regionu a tím tvoří odrazový můstek pro praktickou část práce. Praktická část práce v prvé řadě analyzuje mortalitu v důsledku vztekliny ve vytyčeném regionu v Jihovýchodní Asii a zadruhé analyzuje post-expoziční léčbu. Z vytyčeného regionu byla v Thajsku vysledována nejnižší mortalita v důsledku vztekliny díky účinným kontrolním opatřením. Intradermální aplikace post-expoziční vakcíny snížila náklady o 84% oproti klasické intramuskulární aplikaci.

Abstract:

Diploma Thesis deals with rabies as a problem in Southeast Asia (Myanmar, Thailand, and Cambodia). Theoretical part of the Diploma Thesis introduces the reader to the basic concepts associated to rabies, describes the regions that have tackled this infectious zoonosis with effective methods but also with those that failed. Furthermore, the Thesis describes the development of vaccination programs and measures in the outlined region and thus forms the springboard for the practical part of the work. Practical part primarily analyzes rabies mortality in the outlined region of the Southeast Asia and secondly analyzes the post-exposure treatment. From the outlined region, the lowest death rabies mortality was found in Thailand due to an effective control measure. Intradermal administration of the post-exposure vaccine reduced the cost by 84% compared to conventional intramuscular application.
