Statistical analysis of cattle breeding and beef market in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vývojem chovu skotu v České republice od roku 1989 a tuzemským trhem hovězího masa. První část této práce, tedy literární přehled, je zaměřena na stručný popis vývoje chovu hovězího dobytka v České republice od roku 1989, charakteristiku mléčné a masné užitkovosti společně se způsoby zpeněžování a na zástupce těchto užitkových typů. Okrajově jsou v práci zmíněny i požadavky na kvalitu mléka. Teoretická část dále specifikuje vlastnosti, složení a kvalitu hovězího masa a požadavky na její udržení. Závěrem této části je popsán trh obecně, agrární trh a trh s hovězím masem, tedy dovoz a vývoz. V aplikační části jsou vyhodnocena sekundární data týkající se dojivosti, cen mléka, produkce, spotřeby, cen, vývozu a dovozu masa za pomocí grafů, z nichž jsou vyvozeny adekvátní závěry.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the development of cattle breeding in the Czech Republic since 1989 and the beef market. The first part of this work is a literary review. The review’s main goal is to briefly describe the development of cattle breeding in the Czech Republic since 1989. It also depicts the characteristics of milk and meat production efficiency and the monetization methods of each breed type. Milk quality requirements are also mentioned in this thesis. The theoretical part further specifies the properties, composition and quality of beef and describes requirements for its maintenance. The conclusion of this section describes the market in general, the agricultural market and the beef market, including import and export. In the practical part of this thesis, secondary data concerning milk yield, milk prices, production, consumption, prices, meat export and import are evaluated using graphs, from which adequate conclusions are drawn.
