Greenery in Brno, as a Measure to Improve the Urban Climate

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na problematiku klimatických opatření v podobě zeleně ve městě. Dotazníkovým šetřením u 202 respondentů různých věkových i vzdělanostních skupin byl zjištěn jejich vztah k městské zeleni jako faktoru, který ovlivňuje klima města. Bylo zjištěno, že: 1. městská zeleň je pro 64 % dotazovaných běžnou součástí života (procházky, odpočinek), dalších 13 % zde provozuje sportovní aktivity, 2. 76 % respondentů je přesvědčeno, že městská zeleň pomáhá zmírnit projevy změny klimatu, 22 % dotazovaných se k této myšlence taktéž přiklání, 3. 82 % respondentů a dalších 17 % dotazovaných považuje za nezbytné zeleň ve městě dále rozšiřovat kvůli změně klimatu, 4. pouze 41 % respondentů má informace o inovativních formách zeleně v podobě střešních zahrad přímo v Brně. I když se jedná o poměrně malý výzkumný soubor, lze soudit, že v základech reprezentuje názory většiny obyvatel města Brna. Na základě těchto zjištění jsou navržena opatření.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis is focused on the issue of climate measures in the form of greenery in the city. A questionnaire survey of 202 respondents from different age and educational groups identified their relationship to urban greenery, as a factor affecting the city's climate. It was found that: 1. urban greenery is a common part of life for 64% of those surveyed (walking, relaxing), another 13% do sports activities there, 2. 76% of respondents believe that urban greenery helps to mitigate the effects of climate change, 22% of those surveyed also agree with this idea, 3. 82% of respondents and another 17% of those surveyed consider it necessary to expand the city's greenery further due to climate change, 4. only 41% of respondents have information about innovative forms of greenery in the form of roof gardens directly in Brno. Although it is a relatively small research group, it can be considered to represent the views of the majority of the inhabitants in the city of Brno. Based on these findings, measures are proposed.
