Vertebrogenic issues found with direct care workers in a retirement home

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o vertebrogenních potížích. Jedná se o souhrn onemocnění nejednotného původu a různých specifik, jež dohromady pojí vznik bolesti v zádech coby jejich důsledku. Konkrétně se tato práce zaměřuje na výskyt těchto potíží u specifické skupiny pracovnic v domovech pro seniory, u nichž je vlivem nedodržení hygieny práce a nadměrného zatížení zvýšené riziko jejich vzniku. Cílem práce bylo čtenáři vysvětlit vznik, příznaky a význam onemocnění, stejně jako i možnosti diagnostiky, léčby a ergonomických opatření na pracovišti. Do tohoto cíle se počítá i seznámení čtenáře se současnými prognózami, jak tato problematika představuje dalekosáhlejší problém pro české zdravotnictví s přihlédnutím na trend stárnutí populace. Dalším cílem bylo vypracování návrhu, realizace a zhodnocení ukázkové terapie. Pro splnění těchto cílů byla podrobně zpracována teoretická část popisující danou problematiku a následně vypracována praktická část, ve které bylo provedeno vstupní vyšetření, řada terapeutických intervencí, výstupní vyšetření a zhodnocení výsledků terapie u dvou ukázkových pacientek. Terapie byla koncipována jako kombinace zásahu terapeuta a aktivní cvičení pacientek, přičemž výsledky ukázaly nutnost správně provedené diagnostiky prvotních obtíží a v rámci terapie se ukázal být klíčovým přímý zásah terapeuta. Jelikož se v rámci terapie jednalo o malý vzorek, bylo by třeba provést rozsáhlejší studii.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with vertebrogenic issues. These are a collection of diseases of non-uniform origin and various specifics, which are linked together by the onset of back pain as their result. Specifically, this thesis focuses on the occurrence of these problems in a specific group of workers in the retirement homes, who are at increased risk of their onset due to the non compliance with occupational hygiene and excessive workload. The aim of the thesis was to explain to the reader the origin, symptoms and significance of the disease, as well as the possibilities of diagnosis, treatment and ergonomic measures in the workplace. This goal also includes acquainting the reader with current forecasts of how this issue represents a more far reaching problem for Czech healthcare, taking into account the aging trend of the population. Another goal was to develop, implement and evaluate sample therapy. To meet these goals, a theoretical part describing the issue was compiled and then a practical part was devised, in which the initial examination, a number of therapeutic interventions, final examination and evaluation of therapy results in two sample patients were performed. The therapy was conceived as a combination of the intervention of the therapist and the active exercise of the patients, with the results showing the need for a correct diagnosis of the initial difficulties, and direct intervention of the therapist proved to be the key element in the therapy. As the therapy was performed on a small sample of patients a larger study needs to be carried out.
