Commented Translation of a Non-literary text from French into Czech Oriented on the Geography of Tourism (Translation of an Extract of the Book "LOZATO-GIOTART, Jean-Pierre (2008), Géographie du tourisme, Paris: Pearson Education France")

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on annotated translation of non-literary texts from French into Czech. Translated extract comes from the book Géographie du tourisme by French author Jean-Pierre Lozato-Giotart. The aim is therefore the translation of professional text from the field of Tourism geography. The thesis consists of three main parts. The first practical part presents the translation. In the second part, the default text is subjected to stylistic, syntactic and lexical analysis. There are also described the typical characteristics of the translated text and translation problems we had to deal with during the translation. The subject of our analysis are also translation methods we used. This part is supplemented by specific examples of our translation. The last part is the glossary, which groups the terms of the original text.

Le mémoire de master présent se focalise sur la traduction commentée d?un texte non-littéraire du français vers le tch?que. L?extrait traduit est tiré du livre Géographie du tourisme de l?auteur français Jean-Pierre Lozato-Giotart. L?objectif est donc la traduction du texte spécialisé du domaine de la géographie du tourisme. Ce mémoire de master se compose de trois parties principales. La premi?re, la partie pratique, présente la traduction m?me. La deuxi?me consiste en anylyse stylistique, syntaxique et lexicale du texte source. Elle décrit les traits typiques pour ce texte traduit et les probl?mes abordés. L?objet de notre analyse est aussi les procédés de traduction employés. Cette partie est accompagnée d?exemples conrets de notre traduction. La derni?re partie regroupe les termes du texte source qui forment le glossaire.
