Okrem ťažších peňaženiek prinieslo Euro Slovensku aj prvé jednoznačné makroekonomické efekty. Kurz našej meny je oproti stredoeurópskym susedom výrazne stabilnejší, čo na jednej strane znamená ochranu našej kúpnej sily v zahraničí, na druhej relatívne zníženie konkurencieschopnosti našej pracovnej sily a zdražovanie našich výrobkov na okolitých trhoch.
