The Ivory Diptych of Murano
Abstract:
Předmětem bakalářské práce je slonovinová deska nazývaná Muránský diptych, která je uložena v Národním muzeu v Ravenně. Na základě formální analýzy a komparace s místní produkcí bylo možné diptych lokalizovat do Ravenny do období kolem roku 500, tedy období vlády krále Theodorica.
Abstract:
This thesis focuses on ivory slab called Diptych Murano, which is kept at National museum of Ravenna. Based on formal analysis and comparison with local production, it seems plausible that the ivory slab was produced in Ravenna around the year 500 A.D. during the reign of Theodoric the Great.
