The multidisciplinary approach for musculoskeletal disorders of the shoulder girdle associated with neurological disorders of the upper limb: case report

Abstract:

In this thesis it was decided to deal with some issues increasingly present today and which concern a large part of the population, regardless of age, such as; excessive adduction of the shoulders and often combined with hyperkyphosis which over time can lead to sensory-motor problems of paraesthesia in the upper limbs and how context factors, yellow flags and nocebo factors can negatively influence the healing outcomes. Some of the pathologies affecting the scapula-humeral girdle will be investigated, from the anatomical-pathological orthopedic and neurological point of view. After a descriptive treatment of the anatomy of this trait, it will follow how the biomechanics and arthrocinematics change, leading to real dysfunctions and inability to manage movements and loads. Finally, the therapies will be described, from its hypothetical onset to the return to daily life. Within this paper, a clinical case of a patient will be described, who reports motor and sensory deficits following a postural misalignment, of how she was initially evaluated and of her entire path from a rehabilitation point of view.

Abstract:

In questa tesi si ? scelto di trattare alcune problematiche sempre pi? presente ai giorni d'oggi e che riguardano una buona parte della popolazione, a prescindere dalla fascia d'et?, quali; un'adduzione eccessiva delle spalle e spesso unita ad ipercifosi che nel tempo possono portare a problemi senso-motori di parestesie agli arti superiori e di come i fattori di contesto, le yellow flags ed i fattori nocebo, riescano ad influenzare negativamente gli outcome di guarigione. Si approfondiranno alcune delle patologie a carico del cingolo scapolo-omerale, dal punto di vista anatomo-patologico ortopedico e neurologico. Dopo una trattazione descrittiva dell'anatomia di tale tratto, seguir? come la biomeccanica e l'artrocinematica si modificano, portando vere e proprie disfunzioni ed incapacit? a gestire movimenti e carichi. In fine, verranno descritte le terapie, dal suo ipotetico esordio al ritorno alla vita quotidiana. All'interno di questo elaborato sar? descritto un caso clinico di una paziente, la quale riporta deficit motori e sensitivi successivi ad un disallineamento posturale, di come sia stata valutata inizialmente e di tutto il suo percorso dal punto di vista riabilitativo.
