The aim of this thesis is to provide a complex overview of cellular and molecular mechanisms of fertilisation in mammals. Processes leading to successful fertilisation are desribed in step-by-step manner and in the light of newest scientific advancements. Cílem této bakalářské práce je podání uceleného přehledu o problematice buněčných a molekulárních mechanismů fertilizace u savců. Jednotlivé biologické procesy jsou popsány v časové posloupnosti a ve světle aktuálních vědeckých poznatků.
